    Off to a Good Start

"Some students drink at the fountain of knowledge. Others just gargle." - E.C. McKenzie

Been somewhat off the grid. Classes began on last Tuesday, 1 September. So, the life of a school teacher has been much busier.  No longer a lady of leisure.

I have been experimenting with Lingt, which I posted about previously.  In fact, I assigned work on Lingt to my new Onesies and Twosies.  Both assignments asked the students to practice and review greetings and farewells. Once I have assessed and provided feedback to my students, and have completed another activity or two, I will write more extensively on Lingt.

Additionally, I have set up Edmodo accounts for all four of my classes.  I am hoping that Edmodo will facilitate real time communication between my students and me, and between the students themselves.

Last, my students and I completed a lesson on cognates.  With my Twosies, we worked with a story.  With my Onesies, we created sentences.  If anyone reading this post is interested in either cognate activity, please email me.
